Gloria Barnes Griffin

My husband and I live on Lake Sinclair, where we raised our two children. He retired from Northrup Grumman and I retired from the state of Ga.
We love traveling and spoiling our five grandchildren (4 boys and 1 girl). We are expecting a 6th grandchild in February.
We are active in our church, participate in a weekly card group, belong to a senior fun group, SACO, and are members of the Body Plex gym.

My business Teacher, Mrs. Pellew, had a friend who co-owned a firm (Clifton & McNair, CPA) that was on Walnut Street in Macon. She recommended me for job placement and I went on a job interview near the end of my senior year (1965).

I worked part time until graduation, and then I became employed full time. This was a perfect opportunity to get some working experiencing and gain knowledge in auditing, bookkeeping and lots of office duties.

The one thing that was a big surprise was I met and started dating one of the handsome junior accountants. I went there seeking a job and found the love of my life. In the spring of 2016, we will celebrate 50 years of marriage.

Thank you Mrs. Pellew for everything you taught me because you were an awesome teacher, but thanks most of all for placing me in a position to meet my beloved soul mate!
